Maxos Flat Gage Glass is manufactured from 8488, a specially formulated borosilicate glass, characterized by low coefficient of expansion, high chemical durability and exceptional homogeneity.

The critical dimensions and glass characteristics of each piece of Maxos Flat Gage Glass are checked at every stage of production to insure the glass conforms to stringent specifications.  Multistage quality control assures Maxos can be used with Maxos Flat Gage Glassconfidence.

Attention to quality and safety leads OEM plant managers, safety engineers and maintenance personnel to choose Maxos again and again for flat gage glass requirements.

Flat gage glass is used in new gages made by leading manufacturers including Penberthy, Daniels, Jerguson and Clark-Reliance.

Whether in the chemical industry, petro-chem, oil or power production, Maxos safety sight glasses are proven and used all over the world whenever visual inspection under extreme temperature or pressure conditions is required.  Safe for use in steam vessels, pressure tanks or pipeline systems.*

The high safety level is secured by special borosilicate glass of high chemical durability, exceptional purity and homogeneity. Along with a low thermal expansion, which is typical for borosilicate glass, thermal pre-stressing (tempering) provides an even greater surface hardness and resistance to sudden changes in temperature.

Maxos gage glass comprises a complete range of round and long sight glass in varying dimensions to accommodate different pressure and temperature ranges.

*Chemical service which will not corrosively attack the glass.

All long form standard (34mm wide) borosilicate flat gage glass is available in plain (transparent) and reflex designs.  Here is aFlat Gage GLass Plain and Transparent diagram to show the difference.

To observe liquid level, plain (transparent) gages require back lighting through the liquid.  Transparent gages may allow observation of fluid properies such as color, trubidity, foaming etc.

Allowing only a view of liquid level, reflex gages utilize a different principle.  From the portion of the glass where there is no liquid, light from the view angle is reflected producing a silver-color.  Below the liquid level light is absorbed through the glass giving a black appearance.

Please contact us if you need assistance to determine which type glass you need.

Maxos is a registered brand name of Auer Lighting

IMPORTANT NOTE: For further information  on proper operation and maintenance, always follow guidelines set by the manufacturer of the gage.

Regardless of glass pressure and temperature ratings shown above, never exceed the manufacturer's pressure and temperature limitations for your gage.
