Available in heat resistant borosilicate glass. "Boro" is the most commonly used type of MAXOS® flat gage glass. Stocked in length sizes 1 through 9, 34mm wide.
Fits Penberthy, Clark-Reliance, Jerguson, Daniel, Klinger, Strahman and many other liquid level gages. Aluminosilicate glass, a higher temperature material for flat gage glass is also stocked in standard gage sizes 1 through 9.

To observe liquid level, plain (transparent) gages require back lighting through the liquid. Transparent gages may allow observation
of fluid properies such as color, trubidity, foaming etc.

From the portion of the glass where there is no liquid, light from the view angle is reflected producing a silver-color. Below the liquid level light is absorbed through the glass giving a black appearance.
